Tera Norris

President

Tera Norris is the President of Junior Achievement of Lincoln. Her main responsibilities are to direct organization-wide fundraising, staff management, maintain financial strength and build community relationships. Tera grew up in Peru, Nebraska, graduating from Auburn High School and the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She received bachelor degrees in both Journalism and English. Tera has been with JA since 2006, first as the director of marketing and special events and now in her role as president.

Jessica States

Director of Outreach & Events

Jessica has been with Junior Achievement for nearly three years. Jessica earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and communication from Nebraska Wesleyan University and a Masters in Management from Doane College. She enjoys volunteering as an advisor for Delta Zeta Sorority, is active in the Lincoln Young Professionals Group and is a Lincoln Chamber Ambassador. Jessica is responsible for managing local program and special event staff and overseeing JA’s strategic growth in student reach, volunteer recruitment and event fundraising.

Alison Gottsch-Walton

Educator Director

Alison works directly with 700 community volunteers and 800 educators to bring JA’s financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship programs to more than 23,000 K-12th grade students annually. Alison is responsible for the recruitment and training of volunteers as well as growing teacher participation. She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communication. She enjoys volunteering for Make-A-Wish Foundation and is active as an alumni adviser to the Alpha Omicron Phi Sorority.

Peggy Bohrer

Development Assistant

Peggy Bohrer is the Development Assistant at Junior Achievement of Lincoln. Peggy attended Nebraska Wesleyan University earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in music. After graduation she worked for several state senators in the Nebraska Legislature. Peggy is returning to the workplace after spending thirteen years raising her and husband Bruce’s three boys. She is an active member of the Cooper Y Committee of Management and a Teammates Mentor. Her primary responsibilities include assisting with grant research and writing, coordinating classroom sponsorships and donor stewardship.

Michaela Schieffer

Program Coordinator

Michaela joined the Junior Achievement staff as Program Coordinator to assist Alison in recruiting and maintaining relationships with volunteers in the Lincoln, Grand Island and Kearney communities. After graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, she gained a professional background in editing and working for Lincoln Public Schools. Many of her weekends are spent judging Speech Tournaments around the region and volunteering as a coach for the Lincoln High Speech Team. She is also the editor for the Nebraska Dressage Association and is passionate about contributing to equine rescue organizations and spending time with her own horse.

Katie Samson

Events Coordinator

Katie Samson is the Events Coordinator for Junior Achievement. She grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Katie has a degree in Advertising and Public Relations with concentrations in Business Administration, Communication Studies, and Hospitality, Restaurant and Tourism Management. In her free time, she also coaches competitive cheerleading and tumbling at Cheer Xpress.
