That’s a big number. It’s more than the populations of Hastings, Fremont, or North Platte. It’s more than the populations of Beatrice, York, and Seward combined.
It’s also the number of students JA of Lincoln will serve during the 2017-2018 school year! For the first time in our history, this year we will surpass 30,000 students. That’s a big deal, and it’s something we’re pretty proud of!
Of course, with any achievement also comes new challenges. Because we will serve more students than ever before, we also need more volunteers than ever before. Because all those students will need materials and all those volunteers will need training, we will also need more funding than ever before.
The good news is that we also have a wonderful, generous group of supporters and friends who we know we can always turn to– and we need you now! If you’ve been thinking about volunteering in a JA classroom for the first time or if you’re a veteran volunteer who would be willing to take on a new class, now is the perfect time. As always, you’ll get to choose the schedule and the school, and we’ll provide all the training and materials you need. For information on volunteering, just contact Alison at email@example.com. If you’re looking for other ways to jump in and help, contact Tera at firstname.lastname@example.org.
And to everyone who has been part of the phenomenal growth of JA of Lincoln, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Here’s to serving 30,000 students!
