Friends, you’ve done it again! Last Friday evening, dozens and dozens of Junior Achievement of Lincoln’s most enthusiastic supporters packed the Cornhusker ballroom for an en evening of food, friends, Husker spirit, and auction action (say that last one out loud– it’s fun)!
The annual JA Dinner and Auction is always one of our favorite nights of the year, and this year’s event was as enjoyable as always. In addition to our live auction (which, thanks to our wonderful donors, featured some amazing packages!), this was the first year we added mobile bidding for the silent auction. Even people who weren’t in attendance were able to bid, and we’ve gotten some great feedback on this. All told, we are excited to announce that this year’s auction made over $80,000 net revenue! A lot of students will benefit from this evening of generosity!
This kind of event doesn’t happen without a lot of support, and we have some big “thank you’s” that we want to shout from the rooftops! A very special thank you goes out to our two premium level sponsors, TMCO, Inc. and Bison, Inc. For our fun tailgating foods and delicious desserts, we’d like to thank our special food and dessert sponsors, Pizza Ranch, Cupcakes & More, and Nothing Bundt Cakes. We were lucky to get JP and Lauren from the KX96 morning show to emcee the night, and we are very grateful for them and their spirited efforts leading the crowd in “Go Big Red” chants! We are also so appreciative of all our corporate table donors and donors of live and silent auction items.
Evenings like this one really do leave us humbled. JA of Lincoln has the most amazing support in our community, and we’re so grateful for everyone who believes in our mission. It is all of you who are building a more successful future for our students, our city, and our nation. Because of your support and generosity, more students than ever before are heading out into the world equipped and empowered to manage their finances, build careers, and work toward their dreams. We’ll see you at next year’s tailgate!
