Over the past few years, JA of Lincoln’s Driven Youth Invitational program has become one of our most talked-about initiatives. Over the course of several weeks, high school students are mentored by some of our area’s top entrepreneurs as they develop original business ideas, complete with business plans. Now, we’re taking the very best parts of the DYI program and creating a one-day crash-course in all things entrepreneurial!
JA Spark will take place Wednesday, October 28th from 9:00am-3:30pm at Kaplan University. Students will learn how to write business plans using the JA Be Entrepreneurial curriculum, all while learning from some of Lincoln’s most successful entrepreneurs. At the end of the day, those same entrepreneurs will serve as judges as the students make their final pitches and presentations. We are partnering with both FBLA and DECA groups from many Central and Eastern Nebraska high schools to make sure we can light the spark in the most motivated students Nebraska has to offer.
Our fabulous panel of entrepreneur speakers are Blake Lawrence and Adi Kunalic of Opendorse, Nick Bock of Five Nines Technology, Steve Maly of Maly Marketing, Mailani Veney of Deal Any Day and Jazzercise, and Brian Ardinger of NMotion. Kaplan University and Nelnet are our generous sponsors!
It’s sure to be an exciting day, and space is limited to 90 students. If you know a high school student who would be interested in this one-day experience, please encourage them to fill out this form or email Jessica at firstname.lastname@example.org today.
