JA Lincoln Bowled Over by Generosity

329 teams, made up of nearly 1,800 bowlers. 55 company coordinators. And most importantly….
nearly $120,000 raised to benefit the students of Southeastern Nebraska!

We were blown away by all the support, enthusiasm, and generosity that made this year’s JA of Lincoln Bowl-A-Thon another success story.

We have so many people to thank, and winners to recognize! We’ll start with our top fundraisers, who are the very definition of above and beyond! Mike Zinniel with Nelnet raised the most in pledges this year with $2,850. Close behind in second place was Steve Lane with Bison, Inc. with $2,700, and third place was Melanie Rezac with Nelnet, who raised $2,555 in pledges. Wow! In addition to those three fundraising whiz kids, there were eight bowlers who raised over $500, four at $300, 36 at $150 and 127 reaching the $75 level to earn rewards. Congratulations and thanks to you all!

The two top fundraising teams were both from Nelnet (what do they put in the water over there??). Team “Friggin Ten Pin” – Jeremiah Carlson, Mike Zinniel, Patrick Jungers, Shawn Traudt and Donnie Wells – raised a combined total of $3,750.00. Team “I can’t believe it’s not GUTTER” – Aaron Koepping, Melanie Rezac, Tyler Niday, Sheena Monroe, Pat Spethman, and Drew Wergin – raised a combined total of $3,779.59 on their online fundraising pages. Each team will receive a pizza party from Papa John’s, along with our admiration and gratitude!

Speaking of Nelnet, their support was felt in a big way once again this year! This year, Nelnet boasted 22 teams at the Bowl-a-thon, raising $13,000 in pledges. Thank you, Nelnet!

Big gratitude also goes out to National Research Corporation, whose 31 teams (that’s the most of any organization!) raised more than $8.000 in pledges. Thank you, NRC!

Of course, our whole event wouldn’t be possible without some amazing sponsors! Thank you to the Lincoln USBC Bowling Association for their continued Bowl-A-Thon sponsorship. In addition, we hope you’ll consider choosing these Bowl-A-Thon lane and shirt sponsors when you do business (and give them a hug from us!):
