Junior Achievement is growing in Kearney! As we strive to give every student in our 11-county territory their best shot at success, we’re excited to announce that we’ll reach more than 1,500 students in five Kearney elementary schools by the end of this school year. That means that half of all the elementary students in Kearney will receive our message of financial literacy, business ethics, and entrepreneurship!

Even though the JA programs are new to the city, Kearney is already coming up with creative ways to celebrate their students’ JA success! They recently held a ‘JA Graduation Day’ for the 885 students from Windy Hills Elementary, Park Elementary, and Meadowlark Elementary who have completed their JA classes as well as Amherst High School with 20 seniors completing the grade 12 Personal Finance class. They were taught by 40 volunteers from the Kearney business community, and almost as many more are scheduled to take the JA curriculum to classrooms at Buffalo Hills Elementary and Kenwood Elementary in the Spring.

We’re so happy that Kearney has embraced JA, and we’re excited about the opportunity to reach more students than ever before in this vibrant community!
