Once again, JA of Lincoln is bowled over by the generosity of our community. We’re so fortunate to live in a place with individuals and businesses who are so willing to step in and devote their resources toward building a better future for our youth.
One of those very special companies is Kaplan University. Kaplan has been a long-time friend of JA of Lincoln, working alongside us to make the DYI program a success. Now, the wonderful folks at Kaplan have decided to partner with JA of Lincoln in a new way – making it possible for us to put the Exploring Economics curriculum in every Lincoln Public Schools high school. Thanks to Kaplan and LPS, every high school junior enrolled in a business economics class will learn fundamental business and economics concepts like inflation, supply and demand, and the risks and rewards of saving and investing. Because of Kaplan’s generosity, more than 1,000 students will benefit from having a JA volunteer from the local business community come into their classrooms over the course of seven weeks, serving as a mentor and helping them explore career options and work readiness skills. Now that’s making an impact!
Here’s to an exciting school year, reaching more Lincoln students than ever before with the JA messages of financial literacy, business ethics, and entrepreneurship! Thank you to Kaplan for helping us better the future of Lincoln, one classroom at a time!
