When Junior Achievement students are in third grade, their classroom volunteer brings them an exciting curriculum called Our City. In Our City, they learn about how businesses contribute to a city, and focus on the role of money in a community. The find out how banks work, how they contribute to the functioning of businesses, and how they help entrepreneurs get their ideas off the ground.
It a curriculum we’re especially proud to bring to our students, and that’s why we’re so excited to announce our new partnership with Great Western Bank. Because of Great Western Bank, which will be sponsoring third grade curriculum during the 2014-2015 school year, students across Lincoln and Southeastern Nebraska will gain a deeper understanding of their communities. They’ll learn about careers, study financial institutions, and begin to understand the role they’ll someday play in the flourishing of their city, state, and nation.
Thank you to Great Western Bank for being such a forward-thinking, community-minded institution!
