JA 2014 Scholarship Winners

scholarshipAll over Lincoln, high school seniors are getting ready for the next chapter of their lives. Of course as they close the door on their high school careers and look forward to college, all of us at JA of Lincoln want to do everything we can to help ensure their success! That’s why we’re so happy and proud to announce our 2014 scholarship recipients.

Thanks to generous support from our friends and sponsors, this year we were able to award $5,500 in scholarships to high school students with a record of academic success and achievements in Junior Achievement of Lincoln’s programs. Congratulations to:

Lincoln North Star High School- $1,000 Dan Remigio Scholarship

Imani Wilson
Lincoln East High School- $1,000 Ken Carlson Scholarship

Austin Whitmire
Lincoln Southeast High School- $750 Pepsi-Cola Scholarship

Grant McElroy
Lincoln Pius X Catholic High School- $500 John Ballew Memorial Scholarship

The 2013-14 school year was also the first time ever that the JA curriculum was part of every LPS business economics class within the business department. Thanks to sponsor Nebraska Book Company/NEEBO, nearly 1,000 more students in 29 classrooms were taught lessons of financial literacy, business ethics, and entrepreneurship by JA volunteers from the local business community. Those students were also eligible for JA scholarships, which were awarded to:

Lincoln Northeast High School- $250 JA Business Economics Scholarship
