In what is quickly becoming one of Lincoln’s best-loved traditions, the Lincoln Community Foundation’s ‘Give to Lincoln Day’ is back for a third year on May 29th, 2014! Last year alone, the one-day event resulted in more than $2.1 million dollars in donations to 253 local nonprofit organizations. This year it’s bigger than ever, with a matching fund of $300,000 that will be divided among the charities who raise the most money and who have the most individual donors.
Of course, we hope that you’ll consider a donation to Junior Achievement of Lincoln as part of your Give to Lincoln Day participation! Any nonprofit is only as strong as its supporters, and we know that we’re fortunate enough to have some of the most generous and community-minded friends any organization could ask for.
Fortunately, being part of Give to Lincoln Day is easier than ever this year! All you have to do is go to our direct donation page any time between now and May 29th to schedule your donation, and it will count towards JA’s total on May 29th.
If you’re looking for a way to encourage your coworkers to get involved in this amazing day of community giving, you might also want to follow the lead of other area businesses that have set up “giving stations” in their break rooms or cafeterias where employees can go and donate throughout the giving day. It can be as simple as a designated computer or iPad with a sign that says “Give to Lincoln Here.” JA would be happy to help with this or supply any materials/brochures to be placed around the giving station.
Thank you in advance for your generosity on what we know will be another amazing and inspiring Give to Lincoln Day!
