JA Sets Goals for 2014

new-year2

Happy New Year!

A new year is always the perfect opportunity to look at where you’ve been and where you are, and to set some new goals. Here at JA of Lincoln, we’re always about bigger and better – expanding our reach, impacting more students, and making sure we’re doing everything possible to maximize our resources. With that in mind, we wanted to share with you the goals we’ve set for 2014. They say you’re more likely to accomplish your goals when you tell other people who can help hold you accountable. So essentially, you’re all like our workout buddies!

With that said, here are our goals for this brand new year:

  • Reach 23,000 students during the 2013-14 school year

We’re already on a good pace to make this happen, but that doesn’t mean we don’t still have a lot of work to do!

  • Recruit 800+ volunteers to visit more than 1,000 classrooms

Again, we’ve got a good start here, but we need you! We’re always looking for new classroom volunteers who can help us make sure that every classroom that requests the JA curriculum gets a motivated, generous, passionate volunteer to deliver it!

  • Specifically grow middle and high school programs

Programs like DYI, JA Career Success, and Exploring Economics are a big part of making this happen!

  • Grow Bowl-a-thon to 275 teams

This one is right around the corner! Our annual Bowl-a-Thon is on February 22nd, and teams are forming right now! Click here to find out how you can get involved!

What are your goals for 2014? If they include giving back to you community, we hope that you’ll consider becoming a JA volunteer! Just 5 hours of your time (at a school of your choice, arranged around your schedule) can make a huge impact on the lives of the students in our community. We hope you’ll resolve to make this the year when you share your experience and generosity with our youth in a JA classroom! Contact Chelsea at awalton@jalincoln.org to get started.

Here’s to a happy, healthy, successful 2014!
