You did it again, friends. Last week, JA of Lincoln held our largest fundraiser of the year – and you came through for us in a big, big way.
Nearly 300 of you spent an evening of fun at the JA Tailgate for great food, a high-energy auction, and an awesome Husker atmosphere. When all was said and done, more than $90,000 was raised (that’s net revenue!) to benefit the programs that mean so much to our students. $90,000 to give our kids a head start at success. $90,000 to connect students to local business leaders and mentors. $90,000 to encourage the leaders of tomorrow who will build Lincoln’s future. It was our highest-grossing auction in many years, and raised nearly 20% more than last year. That’s something to celebrate!
Of course, every big success comes from a lot of hard work and generosity. We have big (HUGE!) gratitude for our major corporate sponsors, including IMSCORP, TMCO Inc., Lincoln Industries, Assurity Life Insurance Co., Cornhusker Bank, Great Western Bank, and U.S. Bank! We want to thank Aaron Davis for being a great emcee, and Russ Puchalla from Moravec Auctioneers for keeping the action going. Speaking of the auction, we want to thank all our auction donors, especially those who donated our top-grossing packages – Jeff Schumacher (Dismal River Golf Lifetime Membership), Marc LeBaron and Landscapes Unlimited (Sutton Bay Golf Fly-in), and Tom & Candy Henning (Steamboat Springs vacation). A special thanks also goes to Cupcakes & More for being our premium dessert sponsor, and Sam & Louie’s Downtown for being the pizza sponsor!
What an amazing evening, thanks to so many amazing people and corporations! Now it’s our job to turn all that generosity into amazing programs, opportunities, and experiences for our students. Here’s to building brighter futures, one classroom at a time!
