We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again – JA of Lincoln is fortunate to be part of a wonderfully generous community. More specifically, the business community in Lincoln, Nebraska is truly unique in its willingness to step in and help, to devote their resources to worthy causes, and to do what they can to better the lives of our youth.
One of those very special companies is Neebo, the beneficial owner of Nebraska Book Company, Inc. The wonderful folks at Neebo have decided to partner with JA of Lincoln in a big way – making it possible for us to put the Exploring Economics curriculum in every Lincoln Public Schools high school. Thanks to Neebo and LPS, every high school junior enrolled in a business economics class will learn fundamental business and economics concepts like inflation, supply and demand, and the risks and rewards of saving and investing. Because of Neebo’s generosity, more than 1,000 students will benefit from having a JA volunteer from the local business community come into their classrooms over the course of seven weeks, serving as a mentor and helping them explore career options and work readiness skills. Now that’s making an impact!
Here’s to an exciting new school year, reaching more Lincoln students than ever before with the JA messages of financial literacy, business ethics, and entrepreneurship! Thank you to Neebo for helping us better the future of Lincoln, one classroom at a time!
