National Day of Service

Did you know that January 21 is a National Day of Service? Thirty years ago, Congress signed legislation marking the birthday of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as a federal holiday. In 1994, Congress went one step further and designated Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a national day of service.

On this special day, Americans will honor the memory of the Rev. Dr. Luther King by giving back to their communities and volunteering. Of course, JA of Lincoln knows all about serving the community! On January 21 and every day, we have volunteer opportunities that allow you to share your personal and professional experiences with students in our area. You can help give students the hands-on experiences they need to make the connection between what they learn in school and how it can be applied in the real world.

JA volunteers play a key role in bringing Junior Achievement to life. Now more than ever, we need your help to meet the demand for our programs! Junior Achievement makes volunteering fulfilling, meaningful, and convenient, with flexible scheduling options. Our curriculum provides everything you need to make participation in JA interactive and engaging for students. Your Junior Achievement experience will leave you feeling proud, energized and hopeful about a better future for our young people. Help keep the dream alive by giving of your time and your expertise to benefit the youth right here in our community! Sign up to be a JA volunteer today!
