Remember that back-to-school commercial for an office supply store that featured an excited dad riding a shopping cart down the aisles to “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year”? At JA of Lincoln, we feel the same way about back-to-school time! We’re always a little giddy at the prospect of a fresh new year of helping Lincoln students succeed, and this year we’re looking to go bigger and better than ever. Building on last year’s growth and success (you can read all about that by clicking here), we’re confident that this year will see more volunteers from our business community making a difference in classrooms than ever before.
Of course, there’s one key component that’s critical to our ability to give even more to Lincoln’s students – YOU! The demand for classroom volunteers is greater than ever before, and we want to be able to ensure that every teacher who invites us into their classroom gets the experience that they’re looking for. If you’ve never volunteered for JA before, now’s a great time to start! The time commitment is minimal (as little as 5 one-hour classes!), the curriculum is fun and easy to teach, and you can pick the school and grade level you’d like to volunteer for. And if you’re a veteran JA volunteer (we love you, by the way!), how about introducing us to a friend or colleague who might be great in the classroom?
For more information on volunteering, contact JA Program Director Kelly Pargett at firstname.lastname@example.org or (402) 467-1217. We hope to see you in the classroom! With your help, we’ll make it a great year of empowering Lincoln’s youth to own their economic success!
