Every year, JA of Lincoln has the great pleasure of awarding grants of motivated teachers who are inspired to take the JA curriculum outside of the classroom for some hands-on, real-world learning. Back in December, we told you about this year’s wonderful group of Remigio Grant winners – a truly diverse group of teachers with some great ideas for driving the JA message home to their students.
It’s always great to see the funds you help raise actually put into action, so we thought we’d share these pictures sent to us by Carolyn Dolezal, a 4th grade teacher from St. Peter’s Catholic School and winner of a $175 Remigio Grant. She took her students on a trip to a farm in Crete, where they got to see and experience the chain of events that gets food to their tables every night. We think it’s safe to say they learned some lessons that will stick with them!
