If we’re honest, there aren’t many “celebrities” from the world of finance. There is one person, however, who is a household name. For many, he is the personification of some of JA’s main messages – financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and ultimately economic success. Of course, we’re talking about Warren Buffett! And now, the Oracle of Omaha has teamed up with Junior Achievement USA and the By Kids For Kids Company to help students learn good financial habits at a young age.
The Secret Millionaires Club is a series of web-based programs featuring Buffett as a mentor to a large group of kids. Along with a series of lesson plans, the programs take JA’s 3rd-5th grade curriculum to a new level. It’s an exciting new opportunity that’s all set to get Lincoln’s students excited about economics! All we need now are some great volunteers to bring this new curriculum to life and some motivated teachers who want to give their students even more than the regular JA curriculum.
Do you know a 3rd, 4th or 5th grade teacher who loves JA and wants to do more? Have you volunteered in an elementary classroom and think your students would benefit from this new program? Let us know, and we’ll get you all then information. Contact Kelly Pargett at (402) 467-1741 or firstname.lastname@example.org. For a sneak peek at the new program, click here.
