It’s been proven time and time again — the Junior Achievement curriculum makes a difference in the classroom. Students gain knowledge and skills that will serve them for a lifetime.
So how do you get even more out of such a powerful experience? You take it outside of the classroom!
Each year, JA of Lincoln awards Remigio “Teaching Excellence” Grants to teachers in the Lincoln area who want to take the JA message and expand on it through trips, projects, or experiences. In the past, grant money has been used for everything from taking elementary students to tour local businesses and meet with small business owners to getting high-schoolers involved with philanthropy overseas. According to the teachers, the impact on students has been amazing!
Do you know a teacher who might be able to come up with a creative way to expand on the JA curriculum? Let them know that time is running out to apply for this year’s Rimigio grants. Applications must be received no later than November 30. All public and parochial teachers in the greater Lincoln area are eligible — as long as they have a great idea to help drive home the JA message to students! More information and an application can be found here.
