As always, it was amazing to have all of Junior Achievement of Lincoln’s friends and supporters together in one room. It was a festive atmosphere fueled by great food, a fast-talking auctioneer, and plenty of Husker spirit, and of course it was all for the very best of causes– the future of our children.
Perhaps the highlight of the evening was the 2nd annual “Sponsor a Classroom” auction. After a passionate speech from JA director and alumni Ken Svoboda about the value of JA in our schools, the auctioneer asked the audience to raise their bid cards to put the JA curriculum in a Lincoln classroom. People responded from all over the room, raising their numbers to donate $100 and become classroom sponsors. It was a fitting way to cap off a great night of generosity.
Of course, we couldn’t have pulled it off without some very generous sponsors! Thanks again to those who really went to bat for us, especially Assurity Life Insurance, Duncan Aviation, IMSCORP, Lincoln Industries, and US Bank. The students of Lincoln thank you, and so do we!
Our deepest gratitude goes out to everyone who attended, bid on items, and sponsored classrooms. We had a great time, and we hope you did too! See you next year!
